Thank You Friends....

Thank you to all our neighbors and friends who participated in the 2nd Annual Proctor Park Plaza Easter Egg Hunt.

There were so many friends, neighbors, and community members in attendance. It was great.

The little kids had a great time at the park. Proctor is a great place to grow up.

Families and friends enjoying the beautiful, sunny day.

Friends running to find eggs...

Hurry, hurry find eggs quick!

These fun activities could not be possible with out our teen volunteers from the local schools. See one in the yellow t-shirt. Mrs. Pam has these youth come out and serve their communities. They are such great volunteers and good youth!

Future community leaders...

Good times with good people in the neighborhood and community:

We are lucky to have Mrs. Pam Foote in charge of Proctor Park Plaza and the Community Center. She always goes ABOVE and BEYOND what she has to for this neighborhood. Please stop by the community center some time and thank her for all she does for our neighborhood. Here is Mrs. Pam with her bullhorn acting as Master of Ceremonies for the Egg Hunt...we love Mrs. Pam!

Thank you to all those who support Proctor Plaza and the Friends of Proctor Plaza. Thank you to the people who donated eggs, candy, toys, and who stuffed the eggs. Thank you to the people who have donated time and other means to the park and its activities.

Thank you to Proctor Park Neighborhood Association for their donation towards this event. Thank you to the Heights Kids group for helping get the word out to others in the community and for their donations.

Thanks to your Norhill neighbors who are constantly taking the time and energy to watch Proctor and help keep Proctor a safe, enjoyable, and fun place for EVERYONE who wants to have a great time at the park.

If you ever see anything unusual, or illegal going on at Proctor Plaza please, the neighborhood cops have told us NOT to HESITATE to call (713) 884-3131 for an officer to come out to and attend to any matter. Proctor is a safe, fun community park and we will keep it that way. So everyone's help would be greatly appreciated.

Have a great weekend neighbors!

New Friends

Hi neighbors,

I don't know if any of you heard about the family in our neighborhood that lost their mother to cancer last year. They found out she had cancer and within 6 months or so she passed away.

They have a 16 year old boy who is really sweet. He has no physical limitations. You may have met Alex at the park. Mentally, he acts like he is a 5 year old boy. He's a really fun, kind boy.

Well we were wondering if maybe any of you neighbors ever have a couple of hours of free time on the weekends, maybe Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. Who has time these days, huh?

But it would be nice to let the dad get a break from being with his son allllllll the time. He is a sweet dad. And loosing your wife and having to be in charge of a special needs child full-time all of a sudden has to be pretty tough right now.

He said it would be fun to go to Half-Price books for a little while on his own. Our family has offered to play with Alex for a couple of hours this month. It probably would be great for the dad to feel like he has friends in the neighborhood, too. He is a really nice man.

Would anyone else be willing to make a new friend(s) and help this family once in a while. It would be a special token of friendship.

E-mail friendsofproctorplaza@yahoo.com if you are interested in helping.

Thanks neighbors!!!!
